Making Progress!

So today I decided we needed to do something about Picard trying to get into place where he does not belong...and I was sick of putting all my nice couch pillows on the floor >.<
So! Dad and I went to The Home Depot to buy little plastic garden fences. They were like $2.78 a piece.
We cut off the bottom stake parts and voila!

The fence is held on at the end with a little clamp, but other than that it just stands on it's own up against the couch and the T.V. console.

Today, I noticed Picard had weird gray fur in a line along his back. This is weird because he is all black except for a few white spots. When I pet him, I noticed the gray hair was coming out really easily, so I decided it might be time to try and brush him again.
When I tried to brush him when I first got him, it failed horribly.
Today we made progress! Dad brushed him for a while, then I took over:

While I was brushing him (which he actually seemed to like quite a bit) I saw his back nails were rather long. Now I just have to get him to let me cut his nails. >.<

Also, a while ago I got this really cute ring-holder shaped like a bunny :D It was like 5 bucks at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They had some other animals as well, but I got the bunny. Of course.

Da da da daaaaa!!! That amazingly adorable necklace I linked from Etsy.com the other week? Yeah, I bought it.
Here is mine:

It's my favorite necklace. It's really short of a chain, which I like, and the bunny is super-duper tiny. Like....probably 1cm across.

Toodles 'til next time!

Monday Monday

This week I begin school which is exciting! It also means I can spend more time in the morning with Picard because I don't have to go to work at 9am every day.
So, I have video to update, and it is being a pain to put directly into this blog, so I will upload it in another website and then embed it on here.
In the meantime, I am continuing to update my other blog (bonniespragueblog.blogspot.com) and I wanted to share this:

OMGitssoadorable! I am going to have this for my eventual child. Perhaps for someone else's child. I don't know. But it will be in my life at some point.
It's a baby in a bunny costume.
Gah.

Also, I would die for something like this:

It's just a tiny dainty little bunny and I think it would be the cutest thing for any outfit.

Oh man, it's only $24 with $3.50 for shipping anywhere in the US. 9-month-early birthday present to myself? Hmmmmm

Hiding Places

This is the video of Picard's new favorite hiding place:

[Edit: Having technical issues because this is a longer video, I will add it as soon as I can]

Yes, the scratches just rubbed off thankfully. It's a leather rocking chair/recliner, so we are being extra careful when the bunny is out and my dad is in the chair to make sure we don't squish Picard >.<
I'm hoping this video will be ok...I know the first video I posted was able to go into full screen, but the second one I posted was not. We'll see how this goes.
Also, Picard does not like to walk on the wooden floors, but he doesn't mind walking on the small space between his cage and the chair. When he does this, however, there is no room to turn around so he just backs up really fast:

Feeding Time

The bulk of a bunnies diet should be nice, fresh Timothy Hay, or other similar types of hay. They should also get a bit of pellet food and vegetables. Picard loves his hay, seems completely disinterested in vegetables, but cannot get enough of his pellet food. It came in the bunny starter kit that I bought, and looks like it has tiny pieces of dehydrated carrot or something; that is his favorite part.
So he gets really excited when it's time to fill up his bowl...

Also, this is his toy carrot that he isn't very interested in, but I still think it's adorable!

Home Sweet Home

I just wanted to outline exactly how I set up Picard's cage to make it not only comfortable for him, but easy for me to clean up every few days.
We already have a subscription to the Arizona Republic, so I use the newspaper as free bedding.
(Since I took these pictures I have stopped using store-bought bedding all together, and I no longer include the shoe box lid because it was getting kind of gross).

Because of the way the newspaper is layered, it's really easy to fold up and put in the trash. After that I wipe out the plastic bottom of the cage with a soapy cloth and let it air dry before putting in the new newspaper.

Interwebs Inspiration

So I went to Charming Charlie and they did not have any bunny jewelry...on the plus side I did get adorable shoes.
Picard is doing really well and I have more video to post because he has found a little hiding place that he loves, and it's hilarious watching him wiggle into it.
He had completely torn apart his ball made of twigs, and he has almost eaten all of the remaining twigs. I guess we'll have to buy another one of those.
Next I'll be posting video and a tutorial of how a set up Picard's cage for easy cleanup, but for now, I found more things to add to my list of jewelry I want!
Both of these cute things can be found on http://www.trashydiva.com/ .
This website has really cute vintage dresses and shoes as well!
