Hot Lava

So according to the vast interwebs and hours of research I've done on bunnies, they are supposed to get several hours of free-roam-running-around-time each day.
The first few days, I tried to have Picard leave his cage but he seemed to be completely uninterested by the rest of my living room. I picked him up a few times to put him on the floor and he would jump right back in his cage.
So, I would leave the top of his cage off to encourage him, and finally on Thursday night he jumped out on his own!
Come to Friday afternoon, I take the top of the cage off to let him walk around, however, he only would hop around on the tiny rug near his cage. It's like when kids play the hot lava game pretending that the floor is hot lava and you can only jump on pillows and furniture and stuff to get around.
I thought maybe he just liked the carpet more than walking around on our linoleum floors, so I carried him over to our big area rug. He loved it! He started doing the bunny dancing that I had read about, where he hops up and kind of wiggles. It looks a bit spastic but apparently it means he is happy :D
It took me forever to get him back in his cage so my dad and I could go get dinner >.<
Now it's after dinner and I moved the tiny rug and a runner to connect Picard's cage to the big area rug. He is running it like a track now!

He is doing really well and he isn't showing any signs of infection or anything from his neutering that occurred on Sunday.
When I put my hand near his head he almost nudges it to be pet.
I think he loves me <3
